As this is the first time that an emerging nation is hosting the
Games, and whose national colours are red, blue, white and yellow,
the colour yellow has been introduced into the logo.
The stylized Bunga Raya in a rich burst of Malaysia's national
colours: red, blue, white and yellow; is a striking modern portrait of a
confident, young, dynamic nation. The yellow pollens represent the
six regions of the world over which the Commonwealth spreads - covering 68
countries of diverse cultures where sportsmen and sportswomen will chart a course
to glory.
Significantly, this is the first time in the Commonwealth Games
history that the colour yellow is incorporated into the Games logo. In
all previous Games, the logos had the colours of the British flag, the
Union Jack, which is red, white and blue.
