Games-Smell

KUALA LUMPUR, 21 Sept 98 (Bernama):

SECRET WEAPON FOR SWEET SUCCESS
A "secret weapon" was used at sites of the 16th Commonwealth Games here to ensure a favourable atmosphere for participants and spectators alike.

Alam Flora, the company which was asked to take care of rubbish accumulated at the sites during the Games, applied a special formula to overcome stench and repel flies.

In a press statement, the company said the code name of the "secret weapon" is KF-100. This was sprayed at all rubbish collection points at the sites, including the Games Village and the National stadium.

Alam Flora's rubbish collection trucks were also sprayed with the same formula which is non-toxic and environmentally-friendly.

The formula eradicates the stench replacing it with a pleasant eucalyptus fragrance to keeps flies away.

This shows there is more to the sweet success of the Games than what meets the eyes.
