The cricket competition will be played on several grounds located in the
Klang Valley:
- Kelab Aman, Ampang
- Rubber Research Institute, Sungei Buloh
- Tenaga Nasional Berhad Sports Ground, Kuala Lumpur
- PKNS, Kelana Jaya (venue for Cricket Finals)
- Royal Military College, Sungei Besi
- Victoria Institution, Kuala Lumpur
Preparation work to upgrade all the grounds has been carried out. The
competition will be played on turf wickets.

Kelab Aman, Ampang
Set in serene surroundings 21 km away from the Games Village, this venue is
recognized as a pleasant ground for international competitions. Work has
been done to upgrade the drainage and irrigation, turf wickets and also to
completely regrass the outfield. Extensive renovation work for larger and
better changing rooms and facilities has also been undertaken. The venue is
able to accommodate from 1,000 to 3,000 spectators.
Rubber Research Institute, Sungei Buloh

The Rubber Research Institute cricket ground, which is situated 41 km from
the Games Village, was built in the late 70's. Its scenic surroundings have
made this a favourite ground among many visiting teams.
A clubhouse with all the necessary facilities for the Games has also been
built at a cost of RM2 million. A natural turf wicket block with four strips
is in place and work has been done to level the inner circle and outfield.
Up to 6,000 spectators can be accommodated at this venue.
Tenaga Nasional Berhad Sports Ground, Kuala Lumpur
Located 16 km from the Games Village, this venue has been used to host
international cricket events such as the Super 8's and the International
Cricket Competition Finals. Drainage and irrigation, and other facilities of
the ground have been upgraded. Five turf strips have also been constructed
with the assistance of the New Zealand Sports Turf Institute. The venue can
accommodate at least 5,000 spectators.
PKNS, Kelana Jaya

Situated 24 km from the Games Village, the cricket ground is part of a huge
sports and recreational complex. Work on the four turf strips, re-grassing
of inner circle, and drainage and irrigation works has been carried out at
an estimated cost of RM800,000. This venue seats approximately 5,000 spectators.
Royal Military College, Sungei Besi
Situated 4 km from the Games Village, the ground is set in a corner of a
complex that comprises training schools barracks, parade grounds and
obstacle courses. Adjacent to the ground lies an Olympic-size swimming pool
with excellent changing rooms and facilities. Drainage and irrigation, turf
and wickets (three turf strips), and twin training nets have been upgraded.
The venue can accommodate 4,000 spectators.
Victoria Institution, Kuala Lumpur
Victoria Institution is situated on Jalan Hang Tuah in Kuala Lumpur, 12 km
from the Games Village. This vast ground features three turf strips and all
the infrastructure of an international competition venue.
Training Venues:
Selangor Turf Club, Sungei Besi
A stone's throw from the Games Village, this vast state-of-the-art complex
is home to the horse-racing fraternity. It can accommodate over 40,000
spectators. Work has been done on the three natural turf strips and the
Bermuda Grass outfield.
The six competition grounds will also be utilized for training and warming
matches upon arrival of the participating teams.
